Principal's Message

Dear Glenwood Parents and Guardians,

 

I want to welcome you to the 2023-24 school year. I am Mrs. De Loera-Correa your proud principal, and this will be my third year at Glenwood Elementary. I am grateful and honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such persevering students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community. I feel very fortunate to be part of this school and to support the students and families.

 

I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than 23 years. I was a paraprofessional, a teacher, an Instructional Coach, a Coordinator, and Assistant Principal all in LAUSD. I am excited and eager to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.

 

On a personal note, I was born and raised in Sun Valley, California. As a student, I attended Camellia Avenue Elementary, Sun Valley Junior High, and North Hollywood High School. I am a proud CSUN alumna. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s degree in school psychology, and a master’s degree in educational administration.

 

I believe that an effective partnership between families and the school is attainable when there is trust, communication, and shared responsibility in decision-making. I look forward to working together to help our children succeed, thrive, and become lifelong learners and future leaders in their various pursuits of excellence. Your involvement, partnership, and support are always encouraged and welcomed.

Our Glenwood teachers and staff are privileged to be able to support you and your child this school year. Our focus will be on supporting our students’ social-emotional and character development, and on addressing their learning needs in literacy and mathematics.
